ABB Ability™ Tekomar XPERT selected by V-SHIPS to optimize engine performance on board of LOG IN Resiliente container ship in Brazil.
As a continuous effort to support our customers with enhancing their engine operational effectiveness, Tekomar XPERT will be used on both main and auxiliary engines of LOG IN Resiliente container ship. The software converts engine data directly into recommendations on fuel savings and improved engine performance potential, resulting in reduced emission due to less fuel consumption.

In order to optimize overall engine efficiency without compromising on the reliability of its two vessels, M Pallonji Logistics placed order for Tekomar XPERT engine performance diagnostics and advisory software. India-based M Pallonji will use Tekomar XPERT for its ‘MP Kamsarmax 1’ and ‘MP Ultramax 1’ vessels.

Two French ferry operators are piloting a first vessel with Tekomar XPERT to evaluate the value of engine performance analytics and advisory on their four stroke driven mechanical and diesel electric ferries. The software can offer the same benefits as for any other diesel engine - maintaining optimum engine performance and reliablity. With the independence of engine maker and type ABB Ability ™ Tekomar XPERT is already a preferred engine performance system in the merchant marine market.

Matson Inc and V Ship Boston have equiped one vessel each with Tekomar XPERT engine performance diagnostics and advisory software. Matson Inc uses Tekomar XPERT as the engine performance analytics tool. ABB Ability™ Marine Advisory Suite – OCTOPUS has been installed for ship performance monitoring and optimization. V Ships has installed the software to enhance engine performance diagnostics not only on the main engine but also get advice to improve performance on all auxiliary engines with one system.

Repeat orders are placed for any vessels - new or second hand - joining the fleets increasing the number of vessels equiped with the software. J. Lauritzen has installed ABB Ability ™ Tekomar XPERT engine performance diagnostics and advisory software on the Kosan fleet as well as on the remaining bulker fleet. With the experience Lauritzen Bulker had from the previously equiped vessels the decision was easy to go forward for the rest of the fleet. Tekomar XPERT will allow J. Lauritzen to not only run the engine optimally thanks to instant analysis on board but also have an overview on entire fleet from technical management office.

Knutsen AS and BW Ship Manangement decided to install ABB Ability ™ Tekomar XPERT on some of their fleet. Both companies see the first installation as a pilot and want to extend the installation to further fleets once the software has proven useful. Tekomar XPERT is an engine performance diagnostics and advisory software which quantifies potenatial fuel oil savings. The software can be used on all engines - main and auxiliary - and irespective of maker, type and age.

Indian company M. Pallonji has ordered 2 Tekomar CYLUBE mechanical lubricator upgrades and Korean based CIDO ordered 7 further Tekomar CYLUBE after successfully piloting with one vessel few months back. The delivery will be during coming months and installation as usual in normal service without off hire. Both companies will benefit from substantial cylinder lube oil savings due to the upgrade.

Odjell Management AS successfully tested the first installation of Tekomar CYLUBE S3 on one of their 6RTA58T engines with CLU3 lubricating system over the last months. The Bergen, Norway based company decided to roll out the upgrade to the remaining 7 sister vessels to benefit from reduced feed rate and easier handling of lubrication settings achieving results which were not possible with the original lubricating system.

Dutch based Stolt Tankers will implement Tekomar CYLUBE on three of their tankers. The target is to reduce cylinder lube oil cost and reliable operation. Both are key features of ABB Tekomar's CYLUBE solution to upgrade mechanical lubricators into state of the art modern cylinder lubrication systems. The three vessels will be upgraded in coming months without service interruption.

Tekomar has successfully installed the first two Tekomar CYLUBE mechanical cylinder lubricator upgrades for Odfjell, a leading company in the global chemical tanker industry. The two upgrades help to reduce the cylinder lube oil feed rate on a 6UEC52LS and a 6RTA58T-B. Both installations are the first of a series.

French headquartered CMA CGM decided to extend the use of Tekomar XPERT engine diagnostics to the newly acquired APL fleet. Together with the number of CMA's vessels that already use Tekomar XPERT, a total of 140 vessels benefit from the program. This makes CMA Ships the biggest user of Tekomar XPERT so far.

Tekomar XPERT was launched in 2012. The only software that compares performance with shop trial reference and instantly advice how to reduce fuel oil consumption and consequentially also the environmental footprint. Tekomar XPERT closes the missing gab in the SEEMP initiative for monitoring, implementing improvements and reporting of efficiency for engines and propulsion system. To date there is no other product on the market that could even remotely match Tekomar XPERT. No wonder we have recently delivered our 750th Tekomar XPERT.

Tekomar delivers the fiftieth Tekomar CYLUBE S (Cylinder Lubricator Unit for Sulzer engines) upgrade. Many of the orders are repeats – which demonstrate the benefits achieved with previous installation. The first installation was done back in February 2012.
52 installations approaching an accumulated 200’000 running hours are proving the reliability of the Tekomar CYLUBE system. The installations in service are on all bore sizes from RTA84C down to RTA52.
