Herm. Dauelsberg Germany uses Tekomar TURBOCUT

Herm. Dauelsberg Germany, that operates a fleet of five container ships with a capacity from 2000 to 5100 TEU and two bulk carriers of 93000 dwt each, decided to use Tekomar TURBOCUT on its two 9RTA84C.
As the concept is to touch as less existing parts as possible, it was possible to get the upgrade done within the short period of docking before entering new charter contract. The installation was made by the Tekomar Korea team, experts with vast experience in all kind of engine types.
With the 2nd of two Tekomar TURBOCUT delivered and installed during docking in China the two ships are ready to fulfill demands for fuel economy during low load operation. Delivery included Tekomar TURBOCUT monitoring system which enables interfacing with a remote control system to automatically adjust operational limits required for operation with one turbocharger blinded. The monitoring system additionally indicates TURBOCUT position in ECR.
The Tekomar TURBOCUT allows to run a marine diesels at optimum performance even when slow steaming. The ad-on is simple but smart: Small parts fit into the existing structure. Changing from "ON" to "OFF" mode is done manually by engine room crew.
